My last fairwells
I signed up with this class not knowing it was an eight week course. Which worked out great because I took on more then I should have this semester. I only wish it was one of my other classes that were ending first not this one. I have had a really great time reading poetry and feeling free to voice my own opinion without being told it was wrong. What else can you ask for then a class you can be yourself in. The class wasn't to hard or to easy and it kept you busy and on your toes.

Mrs. Dalloway
Out of all the books we have read in this class, Mrs. Dalloway is by far one of my favorites. There was so much going on in the book and it didn't bore me in fact I couldn't wait to find out how it would end. The other books were slow, long, just didn't hold my interest. I ended up listening to Great Expectations on audio to force myself to finish the book.
That is something else I learned. I have never listened to a book on audio before, but I think it helped retain the information I was reading a lot better. I use to read along to books when I was younger on cassette, but who would have thought it would make a difference for us during adult hood.

Fun
About five years ago I made my very first web page off of geocities, but I could not remember a single thing. Now I have learned again not only how to write up a web page, but what other sites offer this feature. I really enjoyed creating my very own web page except I don't like how the columns only stay one width. I could not resize them to my preference.
I have seen a few completed web pages from my group and I am very impressed with all of our end results. I never thought that getting people to respond to a group project would be so much trouble seeing that it is a on line class to begin with.
I will hate to see this class end so soon. It has been a lot of fun and one of the greatest experiences for a online class I have ever had.

My views are my opinions
It only took me five weeks into the class to really see the difference in my writing style to those of my classmates. I was raised by an extremely negative father who also happen to be very closed minded. The phrase "Its my way or the high way" was written for men like him.
Even though I am my own person, I can not change the type of person it is that raised me. When I read "Say it again", by Elizabeth Browning I could not see anything, but a negative point of view. I read other comments left and they all talked about how in love they were and how great the couples lives must be. Not I.
I think my views hender me from seeing more to the poems we read. I have trouble seeing beyond what is really meant. Unless the poem uses a lot of joyful words then of course I can see it then, but its not always like that. Some of the poems we read aren't even in English. ( to me)

My thoughts, My opinions
Having two history classes that are covering almost the same time period, I have learned what a big role religion was and how important it was to convert them to what you wanted.
That is why reading these poems over the last four weeks makes more sence to me. Religion seems to follow through out each time period first the Romanticism and now the Victorian age.
By far the most intriguing poet yet is Matthew Arnold. I love how he brought a sence of fantasy and imagination into his poem at the same time he made points about religion.
I am still uncertain about how , The Forsaken Merman all works together, but it was really fun to read.

William Blake
The discussions we posted on William Blake's poems, I didn't really look to, to deep for the meaning. I read them and wrote what I felt at that point. After writing my first essay on him I realized there is so much more to his poems and, looking up words in his poems really helped me understand them much better. Although this class consumes most of my time it is by far my favorite one yet. I really feel like I am learning something and getting a lot out of this class. My grammar class isn't coming along to well to many rules about nouns and such to remember. I have two history classes which was a huge mistake on my part. I can't remember who did what, where, when, or how. I am confusing the people, places, and times.
You know a lot of people will tell you they want to teach because they love kids. Although I do love kids I choose to teach because I had some really crappy teachers growing up. They hurt me more then helped me. Because of what I missed out on I know what to make sure each child in my class should get. I am hoping more people like me will weed out the people that really need replacing. I love to learn I just don't love being lost in any classes. Asking questions is definitely something I don't lack. :)

By any means am I a religious person. I believe in God and enjoy going to church, but these poems seem to be mostly linked with religion. I find it hard to point out the meanings a spirit, ghost, or ten commandments means in a poem. I don't know what the poet meant or how religion is all related. I don't even know those things for my own life. Although I have enjoyed our readings I wish they went beyond the whole religion thing. Lord Byron seems to take a step more into the romanticism time which is a nice change of paste. I just find it harder to relate to something read on a more religious level then any other.
